Hamilton & Thurston Limited (the company) aim to give you a high level of service enabling your heating and plumbing systems to run efficiently and any problems arising to be dealt with quickly and efficiently. In order to do this we need to retain a certain amount of your personal data both electronically and/or manually. This will normally be limited to name, address, contact details and a record of when the company carried out work at your property

Hamilton & Thurston Ltd complies with its obligations under GDPR by keeping personal data as up to date as possible, by storing and destroying it securely, by not collecting excessive amounts of data, by protecting personal data from loss, misuse, unauthorised access and disclosure and by ensuring that technical measures are in place to protect personal data.

Building contractors in the case of installations which have been carried out by the company on their behalf.
Your personal data will be treated as strictly confidential and will be shared only with gas and plumbing professional bodies and suppliers of goods and manufacturers where absolutely necessary. The only exceptions to this are:
In the event that we sell any or all of the business to the buyer
Where we are legally required by law to disclose your personal information
To further fraud protection and reduce the risk of fraud

Keeping a record of when your boiler is due for servicing or when any remedial work was carried out
Keeping a record of when your next Landlord Safety Certificate is due
Sending out reminders and invoices
Registering new boilers with Gas Safe
Registering warranties with manufacturers
Requesting warranty call outs from manufacturers
To contact you to arrange engineer appointments as necessary
Ordering goods to be delivered directly to your property
Making refunds to your bank
To inform you of any new relevant services which we are able to offer
To ask your opinion on the standard of any work carried out by the company at your property
We will keep your personal data for no longer than reasonably necessary should you cease to become a customer of ours in order to:
Maintain accounting records as legally required by HMRC
Keep an accurate record of boilers installed should there be any warranty issues
Keep an accurate record of boilers installed and registered with Gas Safe
Your rights and your personal data
Unless you are subject to an exemption under GDPR rules you have the following rights with respect to your personal data:
The right to request a copy of the personal data which the company holds about you
The right to request that the company corrects any personal data if it is found to be inaccurate or out of date
The right to request that your personal data is erased where it is no longer necessary for the company to retain such data
The right to request that the company (the current data controller) transmit your data directly to another data controller
The right, should there be a dispute in relation to the accuracy or processing of your personal data, to request that a restriction is placed on further processing.
The right to lodge a complaint with the Information Commissioners Office.
If we wish to use your personal data for a new purpose, not covered by this Data Protection Notice, then we will provide you with a new notice explaining this new use prior to commencing the processing. This will detail the relevant purposes and processing conditions. Where and whenever necessary, we will seek your prior consent to the new processing.
